I think the “you are the five people you spend the most time with” framework applies to content consumption, and I think the world has a short-form slop addiction.

Who doesn’t love short-form slop, I know I do. But I didn’t like how often I was consuming it. So, last year I set a goal to heavily filter the content I consume.

I looked for better content, and I found better content. Do I still consumed short-form slop? Yup, just much less of it (and still improving)!

This year, I want to write more. This personal newsletter is a small part of that. That better content I found? I’m going to write about it.

Fair warning, it’s mostly podcasts. I’ve become addicted to the medium, and I think its reputation is unfair. Another fair warning, my favorite podcast is Founders. If you haven’t listened before, David Senra is infectious.

Outside of podcasts I also read a lot of others’ writing. Newsletters, articles, twitter. Yeah, twitter, or X.com. It’s by far the best social media platform!

For now I have no real direction or objective other than to write, and create a collection of content I like.

That’s pretty much it.
